HOSHI OSHIRO
Name: Hoshi Oshiro, at your service!~ Also know as “Unlucky Girl” by her peers due to the unfortunate fact that the world simply seems to hate her.
Age: Sixteen
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Occupation: Student - First Year
Alliance: SEES
Group: Persona-user
Weapons: Coming from a fairly normal and ordinary background, Hoshi has to make due with not exactly having the world’s best weapons on stock. As such, she employs the use of a baseball bat in combat. Simple but effective!
Personality:
Hoshi is one of the those rare breed of people who are just honest-to-goodness good people. Everything in her personality is based around her strong moral center and long establish doctrine of doing good by others. She is a very friendly and social person and due to her warm and enthusiastic personality, she makes and has a large circle of friends. She believes strongly in the importance of relationships with people and more often than not will go out of her way to help out a friend in need,..or anyone in need really! Ever since she was little, Hoshi has admired the superheroes from old televisions shows and shounen manga and emulates it by extending her hand to anyone. Her enthusiasm and gumption to right the wrongs of the world through sheer goodness is admirable, but ultimately quite childish. Hoshi sees the good in everyone and because of this, the idea that someone would have ulterior motives or a dark side never enters her head. She believes nearly everything anyone says simply because the concept of lying in foreign to her. This has lead to her being manipulated multiple times and -as things stand now- looks to continue into the future. After the lies unfold and she finds out she has be screwed over, she merely shrugs it off no matter how hurt she was by the truth. This comes from the stubborn side of her personality. No matter how much her bad luck gets her down or how many times she heads to the hospital after a freak accident, she refuses to let self-pity swallow her whole. This doesn’t mean she doesn’t allow herself to mope at all (a girl can’t be cheery all the time!) but she tries to shake off the bad feelings as quickly as she can.
Despite her naivety and childish interests, Hoshi is actually a fairly intelligent girl. Her smarts aren’t anything to write home about, but she is anything but stupid. She excels in the area of mathematics, problem solving and kinetics. Hoshi knows her limits, knows the limits of that around her and while her style is the jump into things and see how they turn out, she isn’t incapable of making plans. In fact -quite the opposite- she is very good when she gives herself time to think. But, sadly, years of being judged and passed along as an “air-headed jock girl” have made Hoshi doubtful of her own abilities and rather than utilizing her gifts, she tries to make due with what she has because she believes that is all she is capable of. Despite all of her the positive speeches, Hoshi has never quite been able to overcome her own deep-sated feelings of inadequacy. A small part of her hopes that, if she plays the part of the hero then maybe, just maybe…someday she will become one. Even if it’s just for one person that’d make her happy.

History:
Hoshi was born the third and final child of her parents and the long-awaited girl after the ordeal of two boys. Immediately her family took to dressed her in the frilliest and pinkest of outfits and parading her around as the newest member of her family. All the neighbours cooed and exclaimed that she would surely turn out to be a very lovely young lady with lovely hobbies like cooking and sewing. But, fate rarely ever delivers us what we expect or want of it, and that was the same for the Oshiro family. From the minute Hoshi could speak, it was apparent that she was definitely not going to grow up in the Yamato Nadeshiko they envisioned her as. Hoshi rejected all things pink and frilly, used masculine pronouns, idolized masculine figures like Indiana Jones and the Kamen Riders and ran around dressed in her older brothers cover-alls. Her siblings were delighted that she wasn’t the fragile sister they had expected to get and allowed her romp around the neighbourhood with their gang of boys. Her parents still loved her - they wouldn’t have been proper parents if they didn’t- but they could never quite let go of the image of the Hoshi they had wanted.
As Hoshi grew older, it became more and more apparent to her that her parents weren’t exactly supportive of her. Her mother had sighed when she decided to chop off her long brown hair and her father winced when she brought the permission slips in the for her junior-high baseball team. They never said anything directly to her, but Hoshi could never shake the feeling of rejection she was experiencing. Her brothers were always kind to her and always cheered her on when she had baseball games, but even they let slip the occasional unintentionally hurtful comment. “It’s like you’re one of the boys, Hoshi!” and “We should just call you our younger brother.”. Despite this, Hoshi continued to live her life as she pleased.
She awakened to her Persona the summer before she started high school. Hoshi had stayed out late with her old team mates toss around the ball at their old practice field and then out of nowhere, the Dark Hour engulfed them. Hoshi was terrified and spent a majority of her time trying to open the coffins that had replaced her friends. A prowling shadow had noticed her activity and in order to defend herself, Lachesis emerged and she defeated it. When the Dark Hour ended she brushed it off as a result of lack of sleep. But, when it occurred again she met a member of SEES. Rather intrigued by their quest, Hoshi pledged herself to the organization and has been a member ever since.
