Seian Verian (In western name order)
Name: Seian Verian
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Has never been attracted to anyone, but is on something of a strange line between asexual and bisexual, slowly leaning a bit more toward the latter over time.
Occupation: College student
Alliance: Neutral
Group: Human
Personality:
Seian is, in many ways, difficult to categorize. Though he considers himself a cynic, there are some who would call him an idealist. He doesn't expect a world of blacks and whites, but blacks and greys- Yet, as screwed up as the world is, that's exactly why he wants to fix it. Of course, as far as he's concerned, fixing it is going to require rewriting the very fabric of reality. Even knowing this, he is willing to walk a long and hellish road, even intending one longer than any human being has walked before, in order to make that happen.
A lofty goal, sadly, does not imply the ability to reach it. It also does not imply lacking awareness of that fact. As much as he wants to do, Seian feels every mistake he makes quite deeply, and is extremely lacking in self-confidence.Though in theory, he believes in the power of choice in self-improvement, and infinite potential that can be reached through learning, he's constantly beating himself up over his mistakes, and never feels good enough as he is.
His lack of confidence is odd, in that it has been ever present in one form or another. Though praised for his intelligence nearly his entire life, even as a child his first thought when something frustrated him was that he couldn't do it. While he has matured a great deal now, the fact is that he doesn't feel nearly worthy of the praise he still gets. He doesn't assume that the praise is a lie... And yet, it usually doesn't feel right.
Despite his cynical and even somewhat misanthropic outlook, Seian has a high degree of empathy and compassion, and he can't stand it when someone is suffering or something just doesn't feel right. He does his best to give the benefit of the doubt to people in regards to their intelligence and motives, and tends to be very kind and helpful, even a bit too trusting at times... And yet, he feels that a very great majority of humanity consists of selfish morons.

History: Seian was always a... Rather interesting child. Though he was highly intelligent, a combination of laziness, poor self-esteem, the sheer unreasoning stubborness of being a child, and people who hadn't the slightest idea of how to handle him resulted in him always being in trouble, in school and often outside of it.
Even as a child, Seian was never social. Most time that wasn't spent at home playing video games usually was spent desperately wanting to get back to that. When he was dealing with schoolwork, he was often having fits about everything that took actual effort, adamant that he simply could not do it on his own. All his friendships up through middle school were shallow relationships, and he didn't get along with most other children.
Through his life, more than one incident at school ended with police officers getting involved. He was never dangerous, and very rarely even slightly violent, but he was extremely stubborn and emotional, with little room being left for reason in most cases.
While the list of incidents was long, there were a few extremely notable ones. In third grade, due to refusal to do his math homework, the principal sat alone with him in the hallway, in an attempt to coerce him into doing it. Seian did not react well to this, and after some back and forth, he bolted, not trying to escape the school, but trying to escape the principal. When he was found, the principal tackled him to the ground, and dragged him to his office.
At the end of that same year, Seian kicked another child between the legs, simply because the boy had annoyed him, and because he knew it was his last day at that school. That incident ended with little note, though it would be something he would come to deeply regret in later years.
The most notable incident, however, occurred in eighth grade. The principal had told Seian he would investigate an incident in one of his classes. However, when that didn't happen, Seian became upset. He wanted to talk with either the principal or his mother. He was told to just sit down and behave, which simply upset him further. He pushed past the teacher, who had been blocking the exit from the classroom, and stormed downstairs. This teacher would later claim that she had not blocked him, and that he had come back after leaving to elbow her in the stomach.
When he arrived downstairs, he was locked in a room with the school's police officer. At this point, he was crying with his frustration. While the officer talked to him, he through a snotty kleenex at her. This led her to arrest him for assault with a deadly weapon.
While the charge never went to court due to insufficient evidence, (And likely the absurdity of the incident as well) it had become clear that he couldn't function in normal schools. After some time being homeschooled, he was sent to a Special School District school.
By the time he was sixteen years old, Seian had matured enough that he was advised to drop out of school and take the General Education Degree. He took this advice, and after some time studying math, he easily passed the test for the degree.
Two months after Seian's eighteenth birthday, tragedy struck. His father had brain cancer, of a type that no one in the country had survived before. Stress destroyed his grades in school, and his home life suffered. His diabetic mother couldn't take care of him, and eventually he ended up living with a good friend of his father's.
It was only after he left his mother's house that he discovered how she had manipulated him his entire life. She had told him lies to alienate him from his other family members, holding him close and smothering him so he could never develop as a person. His entire life, he had been raised to be dependent on her and to serve her at the same time. Her own little toy.
He never returned to his mother's home.
Instead, just less than a year later, after obtaining perfect grades in his college classes since the incident, including some classes on the Japanese language, he found that he had qualified for a scholarship for a medical school in Tokyo.
He has since then arrived, and is now settling in.
