Setsuna Hanamori
Name: Setsuna Hanamori
Age: Sixteen
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Homosexual, though she tries desperately to hide this...how well she succeeds tends to vary
Occupation: High school student; First year
Alliance: SEES
Group: Persona User
Weapons: Setsuna's weapon of choice is the bokken, a wooden sword commonly used in kendo training. She is skilled enough that she often dual-wields them in battle. The swords she uses are quite sturdy in spite of their light weight, and are able to take a surprising amount of punishment before breaking. Additionally, she carries a cloth sheath with her on missions, which she uses to hold three or four extra swords...just in case one breaks during a battle.
She also owns a suburito, which is a much larger and heavier, two-handed variation of the bokken. It is very powerful, but its size and weight put considerable strain on her body. If she's not careful, she could very easily pull a muscle while wielding it, thus injuring herself. As such, she only takes it with her if she knows she'll be facing an especially tough opponent...and even then, she'll only use it as a last resort.

History: Setsuna was born in the city of Saitama, to a salaryman and a teacher. For the most part, her childhood was a normal one, if not a bit boring. She went to school, made some friends and the like. Over all, she was fairly happy, and her family, while far from wealthy, was well-off enough that they were able to live very comfortably without having to worry too much about expenses. As she grew up, Setsuna always had a bit of a tomboyish streak. From a young age, she developed an interest in samurai after watching a random anime. When she went into middle school, she even joined the kendo club, and quickly established herself as one of the best in the school.
Toward the end of her final year in middle school, she was at a friend's house...and that was where she met a person who made a huge impact on her life. This person was her friend's older sister, who was a senior in high school. She took a shine to the younger Setsuna, and, whenever her younger sister wasn't looking, she wasted no time in flirting with her. At first, Setsuna was understandably awkward over the whole thing. Even before then, she had occasionally found herself gazing at other girls, and it had long reached the point that she was beginning to wonder if she might "swing that way". The more the older girl made her advances, however, the more Setsuna found herself attracted to her. Eventually, she reciprocated her feelings, and the two began dating...of course, due to the rather obvious age gap, it was kept a secret.
At first, it was very nice. The two of them seemed to genuinely be in love with each other..."seemed" being the operative word. Of course, Setsuna truly was in love. Her girlfriend, on the other hand, wasn't quite as committed as Setsuna was. She often fooled around with other girls behind Setsuna's back, and, over time, their relationship became somewhat bitter. And yet, Setsuna had, by then, come to depend on her. The older girl, fully aware of this fact, decided to amuse herself by abusing Setsuna, both verbally and physically...really, the only reason she did it was because she was curious about how long Setusna would cling to her. Setsuna, however, was too afraid of being alone to do anything other than desperately cling to a long dead relationship, and, as such, she endured it.
Eventually, the older girl had grown bored of her games, and decided it was worth it to simply dump Setsuna. However, she decided to get one last laugh out of it, and did so in as harsh and humiliating a way as humanly possible. One day, she appeared at Setsuna's school and, in front of all her friends and teachers, proceeded to out her as a homosexual, then proceeded to dump her. The teachers and other students were shocked, to say the least. It was equally needless to say that Setsuna didn't take this very well. As if the break-up wasn't bad enough, nearly all of her friends, creeped out by the revelation that she was a lesbian, shunned her, and she was later subjected to harsh bullying by gay-haters, which escalated to the point where getting beaten into the ground was an almost daily occurance. It wasn't long before her parents found out about it, either. However, while they clearly didn't approve of her daughter dating an older person, let alone another girl, they were, much to Setsuna's surprise, fairly supportive.
Even after the school year came to an end, the bullying continued, with few signs of ever letting up. It eventually reached a point that Setsuna was driven to suicide. With a dull and miserable look in her eyes, she jumped in front of a truck that was moving down the street, only to be saved at the last second by a random passerby. The incident came as a strong enough shock that the bullying finally ended, but it was safe to say that the damage had been done. Fearing for their daughter's health and sanity, they decided to move. As it turned out, her father had earned a promotion, and was given the option to relocate to Tokyo, which they did. After they had settled down, Setsuna was finally showing some signs of recovering. She was far from the cheerful and energetic tomboy that she used to be, but she was no longer the empty and miserable shell of her former self that she had been for a while. No one here knew her embarrassing secret, and she planned to keep it that way at all cost. As such, even as she went to high school, once again joining the kendo club, she found it hard to make friends.
She got along well enough with everyone, and she eventually did make a few new friends. However, she never talked about herself, and she constantly avoided questions that others had about her. And yet, whenever any of them asked her to help them for whatever reason, she was always more than happy to. Not long into her first semester, another life-changing incident took place. She had been at a friend's house, working on homework, and ended up losing track of the time. It wasn't until about five minutes before midnight that she realized how late it had gotten. Since she lived close by, she opted to walk home. During this walk, when time became midnight, the area around her transformed into something she had never seen before. The night sky and moon took on a sickly green color, and there were random pools of what seemed like blood everywhere. And coffins. They were especially creepy. And before she could even stop to wander what was going on, these strange monsters appeared before her, slowly moving toward her with the intent to feed.
As much as she tried to get away, she was unable to shake these creatures. Eventually, she ended up stuck in a corner, no longer able to run. It seemed as though it was the end of her, and, as the monsters approached her, she was positive that she was going to die. However, it was in that moment, in the midst of her intense fear and panic, that something in the back of her mind snapped. Suddenly, a woman appeared before her, with nothing but thorny vines covering her body. Then, with what seemed like a wave of her hand, large chunks of the earth were sent flying from seemingly out of nowhere, destroying the monsters. Then she was gone. Setsuna couldn't believe what had just witnessed. Eventually, someone found her. This person, who seemed to know what was going on, explained everything to her...this sudden warping of the area around her, the monsters that attacked her, and the power within her that had just awakened.
As soon as she finally settled down, they introduced themselves as a member of SEES, and mentioned that they were on a mission to destroy the very creatures she had just encountered. Then, an invitation was extended to her...it took her a moment, but she accepted. Thus, she became a member of SEES herself. This was a few days ago. And, while she anything but used to the sudden changes, she's managing fairly well so far. She still has a long way to go before she can even come close to understanding her newly-discovered powers, but, at the very least, the days ahead of her should prove to be fairly interesting, and she's personally looking forward to it.
The Other Side
ALRAUNE of the MOON Arcana
ALRAUNE of the MOON Arcana

Type: Persona
Skills:
(crossed out abilities indicate those that Alraune has yet to master)
Dia - Restores a small amount of health to a single aly
Magna - Deals light Earth damage to a single opponent
Skewer - Alraune jabs at an opponent with a thorny vine. Deals light Pierce damage
Media - Restores a small amount of health to all allies
Mamagna - Deals light Earth damage to all opponents.
Enervation - May inflict Enervation onto a single opponent
Nervundi - Cures a single ally of the Enervation status
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Resists Earth / Weak to Fire and Wind / Nullifies Water
Her Magic and Agility are high, while her Strength and Luck are about average. Her Endurance is rather lacking. Basically, she is capable of dishing out quite a bit of damage (so long as her opponent doesn't resist Earth or Pierce), but she can't take hits very well.
Other info: Alraune is a cursed spirit in Norse folklore that is said to tell secrets to those who tend her. She takes the appearance of a beautiful woman. She is completely nude, though her body is wrapped up in thorny vines in a manner that most of it covered. Flowers can be seen blooming from these vines.
She also represents Setsuna's sexuality...she takes the form of a beautiful woman, and Setsuna, being a lesbian, finds such women attractive. The thorns that cover most of her body represents her fears of getting into relationships...basically, if she gets too close to someone, she might get hurt.
(for the record, I didn't post a picture due to the fact that Alrarune's official artwork depicts her naked, seen from behind. Didn't want to risk Proboards nuking the site because of it >.>; )
