ARX-68 INTERCOURSE DROID "Magdalene"

Note: The ARX-68, codenamed "Magdalene," was originally being researched by an independent company several years ago, but then they lost the funding for it. A completely random "stranger" appeared in order to help them with funding, which allowed them to complete the project. It turned out that their client actually decided to give the droid to the Sennou Corporation.
Gender:[/color] Technically no gender, due to being a robot, but it possesses a female appearance, so is to be referred to as if she were a female.
Sexuality:[/color] Asexual, Magdalene does not comprehend such feelings as "love," "affection," "infatuation," though she has managed to 'learn' basic sentient emotions due to certain learning algorithms implemented by the company who did research on her and other aid from the Sennou Corporation.
Occupation:[/color] Magdalene is defined strictly as a infiltration unit designed for social intercourse, in other words, an intercourse droid.

Weapons:[/color] Magdalene, with the idea of "intercourse" droid in mind, is minimally armed in the sense that she doesn't have very many actual weapons on her, not that they are actually the smaller weapons. Her choice of arms is mostly limited based on the missions or the tasks she is deployed on, but there are a couple of constants with regards to Magdalene's loadout. Firstly, her two arms are outfitted with a highly modified and compressed version of the M4 Carbine, the company took several copies of the standard-issue M4s and dismantled them to study how they could be outfitted onto Magdalene. The magazines and the loading mechanisms are located inside Magdalene, and in fact curiously she must be opened up (either by herself or by someone else) in order to fit several new magazines.
Secondly, Magdalene carries around a wakizashi sheathed in a small wooden case that appears to be that of a long pipe. Most people who spot the case would not suspect that it contained a deadly weapon instead of a pipe used for smoking. The wakizashi is used for stealth assassinations typically, though it is more or less used for CQC when Magdalene is forced to defend herself - which isn't all that often.
Lastly, Magdalene's developers managed to get a hold of the esteemed ARM-Terminal technology through some less than savory means... One of the developers modified the programs it utilized significantly to allow the Terminal to perform better. This allowed Magdalene to be armed with the ability to "forcibly" contract demons, though the demon Magdalene contracted was through sheer persuasive force and through no manner of force. And Magdalene's most deadly weapon - her speech. Her developers made sure to arm her with a plethora of techniques with dealing with people - she is incredibly human considering she's a robot, and can probably pass a Turing Test with ease.
Personality:[/color] Magdalene is highly adaptable, after all she was designed with the idea of being able to infiltrate through social means. She can be threatening, somewhat kind, or whatever emotion or manner of mindset is required for a given situation. However, despite the massive databank installed in her systems by her developers, she is still a robot in true essence and does not understand the true essence behind "emotions," and can not be truly considered as "sentient," given that she does not understand the concept of "love," and often expresses curiosity about what "love" is. In the same vein, she does not understand its inverse; she does not understand what it means to "hate" someone. However, over time, due to the advanced learning algorithms in her knowledge base, she was able to recognize some basic indicators of happiness, sadness, anger, et cetera, though this is still very basic and she is actually incorrect about it more often than not.
This leads her to become more and more inquisitive about the world around her, despite her constant social interaction due to the nature of her role as an "Intercourse Droid" (she has begun to question the legitimacy of the term), she is nevertheless still trying to integrate into the society around her. While she may be a smooth talker and can get things done, she doesn't understand the things like passion, motive, and those important things that make humans click. She has recognized this thanks to her installed systems, but feels that she has a long way to go.

Excerpts from a diary written during development of ARX-68 INTERCOURSE DROID
DAY 1, 200x
We have begun the initial development and research on the creation of our latest request, to create an "infiltration unit designed for social intercourse." The first major obstacle was defining what exactly was meant by these specifications. It was pretty difficult for me personally to come to grips with what this entailed, and it took us several weeks of correspondence with our client, who asked us last year to develop this unit for reasons that still elude us up to this day (the boss took it because the pay was great). I don't really know what's gotten into the boss, I fear that he's getting himself into something that we'll all regret...
DAY 13, 200x
It took us a while, but we finally did it! We managed to come to a consensus at last and it was decided that we would minimize combat specialization on this particular creation, and instead focus more on diplomatic strengths. We usually tackled weapons development and the creation of related equipment, so it wasn't our forte to design such things, but our resident expert, Stephen, seemed to know what he was doing - most of his research material seemed pretty credible to all of us and he was already quick and eager to work on the system that would be utilized by this creation. I'm not sure what he's up to, but for some reason, I feel rather uneasy about his excitement... I just don't know if it's going to work. I hope it does, though.
DAY 61, 200x
Stephen has been working his goddamn ass off day in and day out, it's insane! He hasn't been complaining about it one bit, while we're busy trying to develop the shell and the appearance of the droid in question. We had to keep in mind that we needed to make this look as human as possible while still maintaining operability and ease of function - not to mention good enough form so as to convince people that our future product would be worth looking at... While we were doing that, Stephen had already developed and tested the basic mainframe system for the unit. I'm really impressed at how fast he works... It's like he's a madman.
DAY 166, 200x
Stephen's already finished most of the system by now. I'm really impressed. However, we've hit a problem - our projected budget for this project will far exceed any of our current funding... I'm not sure what to do. Our client really wants this thing done and I'm not sure we can deliver in time. The stuff needed to make this thing work is just too much. Are we going to have to cancel the project?! I hope not, but the boss is looking seriously worried... He's been contacting our client to make sure everything's going fine, but... I don't know. It's looking very scary and it could go either way. Stephen's just as worried as I am - he's worked on this for so long so tirelessly, he'd be devastated if we had to shut...
DAY 181, 200x
Stephen's been drinking all day. I feel his pain, I really do. We had no choice though, we simply just didn't have the funding for it. Some day, though, I promised him that we'd finish this. I told him that someone would save us. It didn't matter to me how long that took, just that I knew that someone, or some people, would save us from this horrendous down. And all that work would not have been wasted. Not one bit.

Well, due to some funding from someone I don't know (but the boss did, apparently) we received the funding needed to complete the project. I'm very relieved for that, but for some reason, I think that our client is up to something incredibly fishy... Hmm, I don't know.

I'm not really sure what happened, but Stephen said he managed to steal some technology, something called "ARM-Terminal," or something of the sort. I don't know HOW the heck he managed to do that, but he did. Apparently he had some connections with the Sennou Corporation and took it from them without them knowing. I'm still finding it hard to believe he stole it and not that someone gave it to him, but you know...
Notes from Stephen's file regarding the ARM-Terminal
- The compression on this thing is non-existent. Had to improve the data storing algorithm.
- Added some analytical functionalities to the Terminal.
- Added a data uplink and downloading facility to the Terminal.
- Incorporated a way to break the demon storage limit.
- Added authorization - only the droid will use this.

The droid was finally complete! All we just needed to do was conduct testing. I wonder if I'll come back out of this alive... I heard the boss was gonna use me as a test subject.

Aftermath
Shortly after Magdalene's completion, she was delivered to the client, who ended up giving it to the Sennou Corporation a few months later due to some unknown reasons (probably wanted to join the corporation or something), making Magdalene a very new entry to their ranks.

Other info: In Slavic mythology, a Rusalka is a female ghost, water nymph, or succubus, or some such other being that usually dwelled in a waterway or another body of water. They were typically considered to be fish-women who lived at the bottom of rivers. They would walk out to the bank and dance in meadows during the middle of the night. If they saw handsome men, they would basically lure them to their deaths by charming them with their dancing and songs, before leading them to the deep depths of the river. "Deep" depths, anyway.
A Rusalka was contracted by Magdalene through sheer persuasive force. The Rusalka was encountered on a field test by Magdalene by a body of water in a convenient park nearby, during a particularly dark night. Why Magdalene was brought out field testing during such a dangerous time was anybody's guess, but Magdalene persuaded the Rusalka easily by promising it the opportunity to "seduce men and then do as she will with them."
