RUSSELL COOPER
Russell CooperName:
Age: Fifteen.
Gender: Male.
Sexuality: He doesn’t really care about that sort of thing all that much, but he’s pretty sure he likes girls, so he’d probably label himself as a heterosexual.
Occupation: As of now he’s in his first year of high school, struggling to let along under the completely different, non-junior high school system.
And he does have a job, surprisingly enough. He has many jobs: a ghost buster, a bodyguard, an airplane pilot, a dog whisperer.
Or, well, he believes he is in his mind.
He supposes he actually gets paid for being a paper boy, especially considering he had done the whole interview shebang and went through the actual process of job search. He acts as a sort of mini-detective in his free time: no, not a legitimate Sherlock Homes
Alliance: SEES, of course. He even named it.
Group: Despite having made an alliance based around Persona Users, he’s actually a Devil Summoner. An apprentice, yes, but hey. It’s something.
Weapons:
Metal Rod
With all the weapon laws and such, Russell had to resort to ordinary objects. In America where nobody ever paid attention to the law, he had used a spear. Here, however, he was forced to downgrade to a simple curtain rod. Nothing special, really: he painted it gold to make it look shiny and awesome, and it is a pretty sturdy rod, but eh.
Overall, pretty normal.
Personality:
For a guy who summons demons, Russell Cooper is actually pretty normal, or so he likes to believe.
Well, normal isn’t quite the word. Special, like some sort of hero, but not weird.
A good, but not quite accurate word to describe the boy would be pleasant. He’s friendly, sociable. He likes people. He’s not really all that crazy and energetic, but he isn’t completely calm. He just comes off as very mellow, almost as if he wasn’t involved in the nonsense of demons and the power struggle between the groups.
Russell does have his quirks. Having seen many movies and read twice as many books and played even more video games, he’s... well, he’s adopted quite a few things from them. He’s known to quote random books, and those who know him would not be surprised to see a sudden chance in mannerisms or speech from the boy. He tends to be extremely dramatic, but only for the case of adding humor and light to the situation as he acts out certain scenes from certain plays or movies. Even when he fails, he laughs at his own mistakes and simply tries again.
Despite laughing it off outward, Russell is actually afraid of failure. He doesn’t like losing, either, but it wouldn’t stop him from showing good sportsmanship, or at least on the outside. He can be a little... obsessive with improvement in areas he feels needs to be improved. Mostly, it stems from wanting to matter in some way or form. As the only Devil Summoner out of his siblings, he felt important. He was used to being prized above the others, like a hero. Realizing for the first time ever that he wasn’t able to get access to anything was a bit of a huge shock to him. It was maddening. That, paired up with his inability to back down from a challenge (and not just because of “manly pride”, either) makes him a very tenacious little kid.
The boy can, however, get too mellow. He doesn’t take much seriously and doesn’t quite understand the concept of when to stop unless if he’s simply told outright or maybe in some cases, harmed. He’s the type of person that fits well with the “forgive and forget” motto, unless if it involves something big. Like murder. Then things aren’t quite as simple. Hell, even harming so much as a friend may get a negative response from him. He’s not one to take to violence (then again, he hasn’t been in a situation that would press him to commit violence to people), but he does hold grudges that can last a very, very long time.
A lot of the time, his friendliness if often questioned by the more suspicious ones. Why does he so trust so easily?
Naturally because Russell doesn’t care. Or rather, he believes himself to be strong enough to withstand the pain. He has high expectations for himself. If someone should try to provoke him, he wouldn’t react differently. He doesn’t like showing anger, or frustration. He doesn’t want to give people ammo against him. So he simply gives off the feeling of being even more laid back than he already is, if only as a safeguard.
There’s also the fact that earning trust would require giving trust first. His goal isn’t always to get the trust of other people: he just wants to be on good terms with everyone. But sometimes trust can be a useful thing, especially in his mission, and he knows it.
Sadly, he hasn’t mastered the act of true apathy yet. While it is very difficult to get at him, his mellow appearance can be broken. He won’t turn into a flaming ball of rage, but he won’t seem as composed. He gets flustered, suddenly tripping everywhere and stumbling over his words, cursing himself at the back his mind and being an overall clutz. When he falls, he falls hard. This kind of goes for everything.
Russell has a tendency to be stupid. He’s had many, many moments that have made many people face palm. BUT, he isn’t stupid. Russell is, in fact, very observant. He can’t read minds or anything but he can pick out very small details or habits that people do, and can probably spot a normally unnoticeable twitch of the muscle or a very slight limp. This doesn’t stem mainly from his experiences with people or media, but more or less from his training as a Devil Summoner to spot out demons.

History:
Russell was the oldest and the only male in his family. Being as such, he was the child who was ‘destined’ to learn the art of Devil Summoner, a technique that involved glyphs and traditional methods and such, passed down from his father’s side of the family. The technique was only for the men of the family. The girls, well... They were able to live normal lives, though they envied him and looked upon him with scorn. He didn’t really care. He had begun learning the technique at about seven years of age. He proved to be a slow learner, being the airhead he was and still is. It took him a couple years to learn how to summon only one demon, and even then that had gone wrong. He brought forth a demon that was a tad too strong for him, and yet…
Somehow, he managed to forge a contract between them. Mostly because said demon was bored.
When they were all in Junior High, something happened. Russell was still training, so he didn’t know the exact details, but something happened with his sisters. His parents hadn’t noticed, but he did. They had scars on their arms and a newfound fear of shadows. They literally jumped whenever they saw a simple shadow, even if it had been their own, and it was rather... disturbing.
Disturbing enough for Russell to cut back on his training and follow them. It was simple enough, and he did manage to find out what they were up to by listening onto their conversations. He recorded their findings in a notebook, and while any normal person would have thought that the sisters had gone insane, he believed them. It was something about monsters, and an hour where people turned to coffins. Where they could summon demons that had no true physical form. Ghosts? No. They were like mind demons or something.
Eventually they noticed his eavesdropping on them. To escape him, they arranged to live with some relatives that they had gotten close to (another suspicious thing, Russell believed) in Japan. Japan, of all places.
Of course, while he was a bit of a wimp, he would not be shaken off so easily. He entered a school program that went overseas, and for a period of time they were offering to study in Japan for the summer. So, there he went. And he stayed there, even after the session had ended. He had gained a lot from it, including the ability to speak some, but not perfect, Japanese. He feigned being lost, and told his parents that he was simply going to continue training with his relatives in Japan so that they wouldn’t have to go through the trouble of booking a flight. His sisters were not pleased to know this, but they remained with their relatives. The relatives in question were his Aunt, Uncle and his Grandfather. The grandfather was old and weak and halfway senile, but he was the only Devil Summoner in the group. Thus, Russell resumed his training.
When he turned 13, Russell decided to confront his sisters. He showed them the notebook, told them how he knew everything. The girls gave up after a few days of Russell shoving the notebook in their faces and began to explain what he didn’t know, which turned out to be a lot of things. Too many. Since the girls had arrived in Japan they started seeing other people running around within the “Dark Hour”; their uncle was also a Persona User, truth be told, and could attest to this. He even had his own findings, but they weren’t many.
In light of this new knowledge, he realized that he could not experience the Dark Hour. It frustrated him to no end. And yet, no matter what he did, he could not awaken.
His wish to wake up in the Dark Hour did come true when he was called forth by the shadows to be a victim. His sisters and uncle were there and ready to save him, but struggled to defeat the Shadow. They had won out in the end, but with consequences. The shadow was an unusually tough one and it managed to take their uncle with it when it died. The battle managed to destroy most of the buildings around where it took place, and the sisters sustained heavy wounds. The older of the two died, with the younger one being crippled and unable to fight. Knowing full well that Russell would not remember anything the next day, she wrote everything in his notebook. He knew enough that it would be true, anyway.
It was from then on that Russell devoted himself to getting rid of the dark hour. Nothing good could come from it, if people were getting killed off so easily. It was around the same time as that that he had begun to notice a rather large population of demons. They had sprung up suddenly, and not all of them were the curious, harmless kind that he had met in America. He learned this the hard way. It was after many, many attempts at attempting a peaceful approach that he came to the conclusions that demons were, well... dangerous. He had always known this, to be sure, but these demons were doing whatever they wanted, which wasn’t always a good thing. They had to be… restrained. Yes. Hopefully not killed or banished forever, but restrained.
He decided to create a group. It was a small group consisting of him and unofficially his sister, but he jokingly named it the Supernatural Entity Extermination Squad, a choice of name inspired from several favorite TV shows (one of the biggest being Ghost Busters) and various mangas. His sister sought out potential targets in the dark hour, avoiding fights whenever she could. She watched and watched for any people and discovered someone who had just awoken to his persona. He was the only Persona User in the months that she had been searching. She noted his appearance down and returned to Russell.
Over the next week they searched Japan for this person, this… ‘Ringo Shiro.’
Eventually they found him, with Russell offering the position of leader to Ringo. It was obvious he could not do it – he was too young, and not a persona user – which was why he passed on the role to Ringo.
Lucky for them, the man accepted.
So while he did his leadership duties, Russell took on the job of being the “mini leader” of the Devil Summoners in the group. Not quite an actual leader, but someone had to look over them. Sort of.

Nightmarish Touch: Has a 33% chance of inflicting either sleep or fear on one enemy.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Null: Ailments, Nuclear
Resist: Pierce
Weak: Light, Gravity
Cait Sidhe prevails in magic and luck; Her endurance and agility are more or less average, the latter being higher on the scale than the former. Her attack isn’t very good.
Other info: Cait Sidhe matches her summoner’s height at five feet, being only a few inches taller. This isn’t including her antlers, which add another two feet to the cat’s height, with many branches and are thick and powerful to actually pack a bit of damage, despite her lacking in strength.
She is feline-based creature, pitch black with a white chest and striped paws and tail. The tail seems about as long as its own body, long and whip-like with a tuff of fur at the end.
She always seems kind of smug.
